Summer is over and children and young people are on their way back to school, college or university. It’s the start of a new academic year and even if you’re thinking ‘I haven’t been in school for years’ Autumn always feels like a shiny new start, time to get serious, to buckle down to those resolutions that are still to be ticked off the list. What’s more, this is is the ideal time of year to think about what you want to achieve in 2019.
Why not take the time to think about what you can do right now to make sure that you can achieve all your goals?
Do you want to learn a skill so you can begin a new career, start again after a break or get that promotion you’ve always wanted? This is the ideal time to sign up for that course and there are so many learning opportunities out there. Workshops, modules, bootcamps and online courses are available in anything at all that you want to learn.
Or maybe your focus is on expanding your network to give you the best chance to move forward in your career or change your job. If you’re looking to change careers, make a point of meeting people in the career you want to move into.
Hoping for a promotion? Connect with the people in your company who make the decisions, the people with influence who can tell you what’s important to your company right now.
If you want to raise money for your children’s school or the third sector organisation you work with this is a great time of year to find connections with people who make charitable contributions or who can connect you with charitable foundations. Attend events that will be useful to you and help you towards achieving your goals and ticking off those resolutions.
Set specific goals and make your plan… Remember that a goal without a plan is always just a wish.
Best of all, there’s still plenty of time left before Christmas to tick off more of that ‘to do’ list before planning and getting ready for that shiny new year.
